3 Athletes Named to World Age Group Team

Congratulations are in order for 3 Shasta athletes. Gymnastics Canada named the team competing at World Age Groups in Metz, France, Nov 11-20 today. On the team are:

Ben Blais 11-12 - Trampoline
Cameron Quinlan 13-14 Trampoline
Poppy Quinlan 15-16 Trampoline & DMT

National Level Trampoline Camp

August 26-27 there will be a National Level Trampoline Camp held at Shasta Trampoline, Queens Park Arnex, New Westminster. The camp will run from 4-10 PM on both days.  This camp is open to all athletes competing at the national level.  The coach running the camp is Dave Ross, the Canadian National Team and Olympic coach.  Athletes will be given training blocks depending on skill level.Visit Gymnastics BC for more information and the registration package.

Shasta's Newest Canada Cup Champions and Podium Finishers

Shasta's synchro pair Ben Blais and Liam Doherty won the gold medal in Novice Men Syncro Trampoline to become the Canada Cup 2010 Champions. Defending champions Connor Doherty and Cameron Quinlan won the bronze medal.

Shasta sent 12 athletes to compete in Mississauga and came home with 19 podium finishes (top 6).

Fly Away Home

After a successful Canada Cup our team takes off this evening for home. You can see great photo's at Grace Click the official photographer of the meet.

We are proud of our team!

Today was the second day of competition at Canada Cup 2010. This evening there were finals in all the synchro trampoline categories and some finals for double mini.

Ben Blais and Liam Doherty were reunited as synchro partners came away as Cananda Cup Champions by winning the gold. Connor Doherty and Cameron Quinlan also reunited and won the bronze. Both these medals came in Novice Men.

Shannon Comeault and Olivia Bortolazzo competed in Youth Synchro and won the silver medal.

Anita Cirillo and Chelsea Nerpio competed in Senior Women and came fourth.

In double mini tonight we had athletes in the Open Women, Open Men, and Novice 15+ category. Olivia Bortolazzo, Connor Doherty and Jordan Wilmshurst all won the silver in their categories.

Tomorrow will be trampoline finals and the remaining double mini finals.

Fun, Fun & More Fun

This morning was all about fun for our team at Canada Cup. Group One went go-carting and video gaming while group two went shopping.

Now it is rest time, healthy snacks, and getting ready to train 6-9 PM.

Tomorrow the competition kicks off with the synchro teams. A full schedule is available here.

Team Arrives in Toronto

Our 12 athletes representing Shasta Trampoline have arrived in Toronto. The trip went according to plan and the team enjoyed a dinner out together.

Tomorrow the team will spend some time having some R&R and then the real fun and hard work starts tomorrow evening with a 3 hour training session.

T&T Canada Cup July 14-17

Our Shasta team at Canada Cup 2010 is; Ben Blais, Liam Doherty, Cameron Quinlan, Tyler Edwards, Connor Doherty, Jordan Wilmshurst, Curt DeWolff, Shannon Comeault, Poppy Quinlan, Olivia Bortolazzo, Chelsea Nerpio, and Anita Cirillo. Our athletes will be coached by Val Johnson.
This year's competition will also feature international athletes. According to Acrobatic Sports the following international athletes will be competing. (As of now I have not been able to confirm this through other sources.)

2010 Indo Pacific Championships are a Wrap

Competition at the 2010 Indo Pacific Championships has wrapped up. Highlights of the final day include a 4th place finish for Cameron Quinlan on trampoline, a fifth place finish on double mini by Shannon Comeault, and an 11th place for Poppy Quinlan on double mini.

We are so proud of our Shasta Athletes! A recap of all their accomplishments at this meet are:

Another Golden Day in Kakegawa

Ben Blais has added Indo Pacific Double Mini Champion to his growing list of titles. Ben won gold in 10-12 year old Men double mini trampoline in Kakegawa Japan.

Other Shasta athletes competing today were our 15-16 year old Women on trampoline. Shannon and Poppy both made finals and placed 8&9th. Also Chelsea and Anita made finals and finished 8th in 17+ Woman Synchro.

Kakegawa is Golden

Kakegawa is Golden for one of our own! Chelsea Nerpio, competing in 17+ women double mini, has won gold. She also finished 4th on tramp. Congratulations Chelsea!

Other highlights for our athletes include: Poppy and Shannon 6th in Synchro Trampoline, Cam and Ben 5th in Synchro trampoline, Cam 6th on double mini, Ben 6th on tramp, and Anita 10th on tramp.
